Salesianum Edges Concord in Season Finale

The boys basketball team fell short on Tuesday, losing 49-45 in a tightly contested season finale and Senior Night against Salesianum (12-8). Physicality and shooting played major factors, giving Salesianum the advantage. Out-rebounding the Raiders (10-10), dominant freshman big man Tarij Ingraham had his way in the paint. Ingraham was able to take advantage of his 6’8’’ stature to accumulate offensive and defensive rebounds, even with senior captain Noah Rivera attempted to keep Ingraham in check.

Ingraham drew a lot of defensive attention inside, allowing freshmen Fahmir Ali (13 points) and Trevon Alderman (eight points) to dominate the game around the perimeter. Sallies’ ability to produce points from behind the arc with 4 different players hurt the Raiders. Rivera, junior mid-range shooter Joe McHugh, along with guards Danny Wise and Matthew Arrabal, helped lead the way for Concord.

Ending the regular season, Concord finished with a .500 record of 10-10. Sallies will look to defend its championship from last season.

Congratulations to seniors Noah Rivera, Robert White, Danny Wise, and Dallas Russell on four great seasons in the Concord Basketball Program!
