A sellout crowd at Ursuline for a battle between two of the top three girls basketball teams in the state witnessed a win for Ursuline (15-5), handing Concord (19-1) its first loss of the season, with a final score of 50-41. Starting the game on an 11-0 tear, Ursuline’s full court pressure defense flustered the Raiders early, resulting in several turnovers in the first few minutes.
At this month’s DECA State Conference at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino in Dover, 40 Concord students competed in a wide range of competitive events along with hundreds of other students from across the state, and finished with 15 event finalists. Concord had one of the largest delegations. Students started preparing for their events months in advance, doing mock role plays and taking practice tests. Students even took part in DECA Day in their Marketing classes.
Concord High School's Academic WorldQuest team is state champions -- for the second year in a row! On Feb. 6, the annual Academic WorldQuest Competition was held at Trabant Hall in the University of Delaware by the World Affairs Council of Delaware. There were 40 teams from across the state competing.
